How to Get Liquid Out of Charging Port

When you’re charging your phone, you may have a problem with liquid in your charging port. You don’t want to damage your phone by letting the water stay inside it. There are steps you can take to clear it up, though.

First, you should unplug your device. This is because you need to avoid using heat to dry the port. Then, wipe down the port with a soft cloth to get rid of the excess moisture. If you’re unsure when your device is completely dry, leave it alone for at least 30 minutes.

Next, you can shake your device a few times. Ideally, you should do this with the charging port facing down. Once you’ve completed that, you can use a microfiber cloth to wipe off the remaining moisture. Alternatively, you can try to use a vacuum hose to remove the water from the port. But don’t try to blow into the USB port. That can push more water in and even damage your device.

Finally, you should dry the port with a clean, absorbent cloth. Don’t use paper towels, cotton swabs, or isopropyl alcohol. Instead, use silica gel packets to absorb the moisture. They are much more absorbent than rice.

If your charging port isn’t drying up quickly, you might need to leave it for a few more hours. It’s also important to make sure that your device is well-ventilated. Things like tissues can prevent the port from being able to charge.
