How to Delete a Section Break in Word

Section breaks in Word are a feature that allows a document to be divided into multiple sections. When you create a document, you can add or delete section breaks depending on your needs. However, removing a section break is a task that can be difficult to accomplish. It will combine content before and after the break, which may cause formatting issues.

To remove a section break from a document, open Microsoft Word and click the Home tab. You should see a horizontal bar at the top of the screen. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut keys Ctrl+H to open the Find and Replace tool.

The first step in deleting a section break in Word is to find the section break that you want to remove. Click on the Breaks button from the Page Setup group. This will display a drop down menu with different types of section breaks.

Next, select the type of section break that you want to delete. For example, if you want to remove the continuous section break, you will need to click on the Continuous option in the Breaks drop down.

Next, click the More button to reveal more settings. Depending on the type of break that you have, you will be able to change the number of columns and even reduce the size of the document. If the break you have selected is continuous, you can drag it to a new position.

Finally, delete the section break by clicking on the Delete key. A confirmation window will appear.
